Watchmaking technology
The dial is set with diamonds in an 18-carat gold base and baguette diamonds at 6 and 9 o'clock. Many of the dial models in the Oyster collection feature a sunray effect that reflects a light luster. This effect requires an exceptional brushing technique to create an engraving that extends outward from the center of the dial.

The light is dispersed along the engraving, creating a subtle but distinctive effect that reveals different luminosities as the wrist moves. Once the sunray effect is completed, the dial is then colored by physical vapor deposition or electroplating, and finally finished with a varnish.

The gem-setters, like sculptors, meticulously handcraft their mounts for each stone using precious metals. The gemstones are set with the utmost precision, with each stone precisely aligned and calibrated in its place to ensure that it is securely mounted in a gold or platinum setting.

In addition to the quality of the stones, Rolex has other strict requirements for the setting, including the height and precise alignment, orientation and position of the stones, the regularity, solidity and proportions of the setting, as well as the fine finish of the metal mount. The watch brings a dazzling accent to the wearer's wrist.
